The Air Jordan 1 Mid is one of the most popular shoes in history. It’s never trumped its taller counterpart, but that hasn’t stopped it from winning over dozens of former naysayers with compelling colorways like “University Blue” and “White.” For this season’s update on what was once seen as ‘just another white/black mid-top sneaker (a la countless others), we get an artistic twist by employing both colors together for something fresh.
The newly-surfaced pair of Air Jordan 1 Mid “University Blue” resembles the University Of North Carolina appropriate model seen in 2015 (or 2018 if you count Off White’s take), but closer inspection reveals a number of changes. For starters, this time around there are eight eyelets on offer rather than nine; each shoe also features an updated tongue design and more contrast between materials at critical joints such as ankles or palms – all while keeping true to its signature cut which makes them look better than ever before. The new Jordan 23 silhouette is a hybrid of the original and inspiration from recent years. The color blocking seen on this model follows what was used for #23’s college career: “Wings” insignia-branded flaps are given an off white makeup, while underlays in light blue sit atop with Nike Dunk reminiscence sole units that borrows tried & proven combinations like its titular shoe’s signature shade; you can find these at your local retailer now.
No official Nike.com release date has been disclosed by the brand, but that’s likely to change as springtime inches closer. In the meantime, enjoy a look at the official images ahead.
