More than half a decade of women-only releases from Jordan Brand has demonstrated the brand’s commitment to the female market. As far as we can tell, 2022 will see yet another women’s-only release based on Mike’s first signature shoe. It’s expected that the Air Jordan 1 High Chenille will be part of a Valentine’s Day collection that includes a pair of Dunk Lows and more.
First impressions of the shoe (in PS sizing) show a white leather upper with Varsity Red leather overlays, an Iron Ore collar, liners, and tongues. Interesting details include corduroy collars and red Chenille Swooshes on white borders, reminiscent of the white borders found on old school varsity jackets. The final touches include a simple sail and red sole unit, Nike Air branding at the tongue, and a set of red laces—and likely a white set, too. According to reports, the release of the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Chenille“ has been pushed back from February to April.
