Since its release in 1996, the Nike Air More Uptempo has been widely regarded as one of the most excellent basketball sneakers ever. Since the 1990s, the Scottie Pippen-associated silhouette has been a popular choice for those who prefer to wear their sneakers off the court. A few weeks ago, Nike Air More Uptempo “Ghost” appeared in a clean white color scheme with multi-colored accents.
The upcoming retro hoops model features a “colorless” leather upper with a smattering of crosses, similar to the Air Zoom G.T. Cut and Air Zoom G.T. Run from recent releases. Even though the “AIR” logo and other top-half accents deviate from the shoe’s basic white color scheme and stark black contrast, they pale in comparison to the eyelets on the tongue, which feature vibrant red, green, and blue. The midsole also features a similar multi-colored finish, with the Air Max bubbles sporting a bright crimson hue. Air More Uptempo sock-liners are also covered in the same color scheme but with a series of seemingly hand-drawn illustrations to give the basketball design a more playful feel.
It’s unclear when Nike.com will launch, but that could change as the second half of 2022 approaches. In the meantime, look at these official photos of the duo.
