Jordan Brand has collaborated with Bephie’s Beauty Supply of Los Angeles, a beauty supply owned by Beth “Bephie Gibbs” — wife of Union LA founder Chris Gibbs — to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the Air Jordan 7.
The Gibbs family has a vivid imagination because this Bephies Beauty Supply x Air Jordan 7 SP is unlike any other AJ7 release in history. The interior neoprene bootie is fitted with a mesh shroud that extends up above the ankle, with a cuff closed by an elastic cord, making it a rather thoughtful extension of Tinker Hatfield’s original Huarache-inspired design. This redesign includes a protective element, as the Air Jordan 7 exterior is a hiking-style shell painted in Sanddrift and paired with Malt, Turf Orange, and Peach Cream. The Jumpman logo is projected onto the inner mesh, and a Swoosh logo appears on the forefoot just under the quarter mudguard.
Finally, Bephie’s shop logo is prominently displayed on the heel, replacing the arrowhead piece seen on previous AJ7 releases. The added toe-cap, with extended embroidery that falls from the lace collar to the toe-box, is our favorite detail.
Release date of August 25th is expected, but stay tuned for an official announcement from Jordan Brand.
