Ye debuted the Yeezy Foam Runner Onyx at his “DONDA 2” live experience in Miami ahead of the Yeezy Slides “Onyx” release date of March 7th.
Some of the most anticipated Yeezy products of the year, including YEEZY GAP BALENCIAGA ENGINEERED and the first near-black Foam Runner in Ye’s three-stripes-backed empire were given first dibs at the February 22nd event. Rumors of the slip-on pair’s springtime release date had been circulating on the internet prior to the event, but nothing has been confirmed by the brand. One thing that is certain is that Yeezy’s social media presence has already been flooded with pleas for a pair from both casual and die-hard followers. A third “Onyx”-colored laceless design by the former “Mr. West” has been unveiled in the last two months by his brand. Although it’s unclear if this was Ye’s intention all along, his recent penchant for all-dark ensembles may have led to the “Onyx” releases and given fans a way to guess what color palettes will take over future Yeezy releases.
