UNDERCOVER, founded in 1993, is a storied Japanese fashion house. In addition, over three decades and countless seasons, founder/designer Jun Takahashi has created no shortage of legendary offerings, such as the highly sought-after SS03 “SCAB” collection. Furthermore, Takahashi’s career has been marked by the recurrence of numerous graphic and structural motifs, which can be found in both his solo and collaborative efforts.
For instance, the ongoing partnership between UNDERCOVER and Nike is full of references to the Japanese brand’s signature motifs. Their upcoming Nike Moc Flow SP continues this trend with a design that features UC’s signature “CHAOS AND BALANCE” mark emblazoned across an otherwise understated construction and color scheme. The latter text, boxed in bright red here, has appeared along previous collaborations but is partially hidden behind an opaque, Nike-branded heel tab. The speckled midsoles that are a trademark of this collaboration are also present, sitting flush with a mostly unstamped white leather upper (besides those above).
