The Nike Dunk High has seen a slew of fresh colorways appear over the last three months, building on Peter Moore’s original 1985 design. A blue-covered pair from 2006 loosely harkens back to the Nike Dunk High “University Blue/Deep Royal”-colored edition of the made-for-basketball style, which has been increasing dramatically over the last five years.
The forefoot, tongue, and heel of the future sneakers are a lighter shade of blue, similar to the fabled “Argon,” which premiered only in Japan in 2001. The toe box, mid-foot, and collar panels all have a deep (deep) navy, while the profile swooshes and laces introduce “White” to the mix. With a “colorless” midsole and a deep blue tread, the Nike Dunk pays homage to prior hues underfoot.
