Nike Air Force 1 Mid “NYC” DH5622-100

Nike Air Force 1 Mid

While the Nike Air Force 1 Mid has become the “butt” of many a viral joke, the model has played an essential role in the model’s history, introducing design cues that have found their way into other trims (i.e. jewel swoosh). Even though the silhouette is well-known and widely celebrated worldwide, its prominence in New York City often outshines that elsewhere.

Bruce Kilgore’s iconic design has taken on a “White/Midnight Navy/Gum Yellow” colorway for its most recent offering. The color scheme has previously taken over the made-for-the-hardwood proposition. Still, the pinstripe inner lining, “NYC” branding on the tongue label and ankle strap, and “6” MTA line logos on the outsole have not been included. A “4” instead of a “5” would have been more appropriate for this Nike Air Force 1 because the “Jenny from the Block”-associated train line runs east of the Bronx’s River Avenue; a “1” would have been better. Despite this, the shoes are new and, therefore, appropriate for New York City.

The Nike.com release date for Nike Air Force 1 Mid “NYC” has yet to be announced, but it is expected to arrive before the year 2021 comes to a close. In any case, look at the duo’s photos after the break.
