The next Saucony Originals initiative, like the Bronx native’s fitted caps and pins, features an array of luxury materials. “Jae Tips First Shoe” combines creativity, style, and culture as printed on the equally colorful shoe box. According to the multi-hyphenate designer, talks about collaborating on footwear with the Massachusetts-based company began in early 2021.
Over nearly two years, Jae Tips tweaked the Saucony Grid Azura 2000 to his satisfaction, resulting in one of the brand’s most vivid offerings. The retro-futuristic sneaker is covered in various tones and prints: pink covers the “Grid”-branded midsoles, while a semi-translucent finish emerges on the outsole.
Purple suede, zebra patterns, and floral prints compete for space on the top of the turn-of-the-century Saucony design, resulting in a colorful but beautiful ensemble. In addition, the sneaker features co-branding throughout, making the creation a true collaboration.
