Keith Hufnagel started HUF in San Francisco in 2002, and it has since become one of skating’s most popular brands because of its clean aesthetic, provocative designs, and high-quality artistry. Likewise, when it comes to skateboarding, Nike SB is one of the most sought-after shoe brands in the history of the sport. So it’s only natural that these two industry giants would reunite for another collaboration on a Dunk silhouette after working together on the high-top shoe version in 2004. A three-pack of HUF x Nike SB Dunk Low will be released to commemorate HUF’s 20th anniversary and pay tribute to the life of Keith Hufnagel.
Black/white, white/blue, and a two-tone grey with tie-dye accents pay homage to the first-ever HUF x Nike SB Dunk High collaboration. The fine tumbled leather that covers the uppers of all three pairs will be the same, but the attention to detail on each pair is what sets these sneakers apart. Located right below the thick laces and mesh tongue, the toebox features a HUF logo with a silver Nike Swoosh in the center. In addition to the usual Nike SB insignia, “New York City” is stitched on the blue pair, a reference to Keith’s home city.
The black and white pair is a tribute to the company’s original city, San Francisco. This pair’s tie-dye green laces are accented with a blend of green and white along the midfoot. Embossed inside the heel tab is a skyline of New York City and the slogan “Keith Forever,” which is displayed on both the left and right sneaker in alternating fashion. The black/white and white/navy pairs have a vintage cream SB Dunk midsole, while the tie-dye pair has a light grey one. Rubber outsoles in the same hue as the shoes’ accent color complete the look.
By 2022, all three colorways of the HUF x Nike SB Dunk Low are expected to be available through HUF, select local skate shops, and Nike’s online store. Unfortunately, sizing and cost information is not available at this time.
