The Air Jordan 5 “Crimson Bliss,” which DJ Khaled wore courtside atop a silk pillow at last weekend’s Miami Heat game, is part of a collaborative collection that Jordan Brand and the producer unveiled in the spring. Official images of the DJ Khaled x Air Jordan 5 “Sail” have recently surfaced, following a first look at the second proposition within the set to drop in October.
For the fifth installment of their collaborative series, Jordan Brand and hip-hop mogul DJ Khaled have opted to feature Khaled’s “We The Best” moniker, which previously appeared on the Air Jordan 3 “Father Of Ahsad” collection, on the shoe’s tumbled leather upper, tongue construction, and laces. Metallic silver covers the tongue, and a darkened shadow grey is used for the heel clip; pastels claim the remaining space with a single unit of lilac, powder blue, and infrequently bright yellow specks.
The words “WE THE BEST” are embroidered in a subdued yellow finish along the heel tab, and the shoe’s semi-translucent lace lock is designed to match the embroidery. Along the baby, blue quilted textile of the tongue’s interior and sock liner, a series of positive affirmations end with the words “KEEP GOING” written inverted.
