As our list of Jordan releases for 2021 continues to grow, we’re starting to see a few familiar silhouettes crop up. There’s no shortage of colorways for the Air Jordan 1 in the new year, and the Air Jordan 6 is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a smattering of colorways as well. However, a few pairs of Air Jordan 9s have been a big surprise, as they are rarely released more than once a year. With the addition of the Air Jordan 9 “Chile Red” for the fall season, next year will have three (and counting!).
There are a few key changes to the Air Jordan 9 “Motorboat Jones” from 2012’s Kilroy Pack, but the striking black and red color scheme are the same. Uppers of red nylon remove the contrast black stitching and pair it with patent leather overlays, red-inked midsoles, and jet black outsoles.
We won’t be seeing any first looks for the Air Jordan 9 “Motorboat Jones” until Fall 2021, so enjoy this close-up of the 2012 model in the meantime.
