Despite the fact that Jordan Brand’s 30th-anniversary celebrations will end in 2020, it’s clear that the Air Jordan 5 will continue to be honored. The famous “Raging Bull” and “Oreo” hues returned this year, along with new entries from the “Stealth 2.0,” “Anthracite,” “Orange Blaze,” and “Bluebird” colorways. However, Jordan Brand has one more release planned before the end of the year: the Air Jordan 5 “Jade Horizon”.
The aged-look release, which is set to drop on December 5th, is made entirely of fine nubuck in the namesake green shade and sits atop a striking black midsole. The pre-yellowed eye stays, lace locks, and outsoles give the pair an antique feel, while a flecked silver forefoot feature nods to the shoe’s own history. Back up top, light grey liners, tongues, and laces are used, with barely-there pinks added to the tongue liner and brand embroidery to round out the look.
Update 12.09.21 / According to sources, the Air Jordan 5 “Jade Horizon” has been pushed back from its initial November 27th, 2021 release date to March 25th, April 9th, 2021. This is the latest in a long line of setbacks for the brand, all of which are likely attributable to COVID-related manufacturing and shipping difficulties. If you can’t wait for the retail release, aftermarket pairs from GOAT and Flight Club are currently available.
