Despite the fact that Jordan Brand‘s 30th-anniversary celebrations will come to an end in 2020, it is clear that the Air Jordan 5 will continue to be honored. The venerable “Raging Bull” and “Oreo” colorways made a triumphant return this year, while new colorways such as “Stealth 2.0,” “Anthracite,” “Orange Blaze,” and “Bluebird” also made an appearance. Despite this, Jordan Brand has one more release in store before the year is out: the Air Jordan 5 “Jade Horizon”.
The aged-look release, set to drop on December 5th, features fine nubuck upper in the aforementioned green colorway, sitting atop a striking black midsole. The shoe’s eye-stays, lace locks, and outsoles are all pre-yellow, and the flecked silver forefoot detail hints at its own history. Uppers feature a light grey base with hints of pink on the tongue liner and brand embroidery to round out the design.
Release date was pushed back from November 27th, 2021 to March 25th, to April 9th according to reports. Another in a long line of setbacks for the brand, likely due to the COVID pandemic’s manufacturing and shipping constraints. There are already aftermarket options from GOAT and Flight Club if you can’t wait for the official retail release.
