The Air Jordan 5 “Aqua” is a bridge between the 1990 model and its 1992/1993 replacement, using the tried-and-true method of reusing an original colorway from a previous iteration.
The Air Jordan 5 has already included aqua hues (in the original “Grape” design), and this new release features those hues alongside a brilliant university gold yellow as a homage to the Air Jordan 8 “Aqua” colorway. It lacks the necessary purple and crimson undertones to justify its given name. As a matter of fact, the impending Aqua 5s look more similar to the early-era Chris Paul Player Exclusives that Jordan Brand gave him while he was with the New Orleans Hornets.
