The impending Air Jordan 3 “Wizards” — officially designated the “True Blue and Copper” — is created to OG ’88 specs and brings back a well-known Player Exclusive from the silhouette’s history, one designed for MJ during his brief tenure with the Washington Wizards. Following multiple teasers, official photographs of the April-bound colorway have emerged.
The Air Jordan 3 “Wizards” was designed for his Airness in 2001, referring to the colors worn by the Washington basketball club from 1997 to 2007. Though different in specific ways, such as the “Metallic Copper” decoration around the eyelets and Jumpman logo, many people have compared the pair to the “True Blue” 3s. This comparison is not valuable since the 2023 Retro is similar to the original model. The colorway incorporates the same calm tone, a white tumbled leather structure, and the classic Elephant Print.
