When it comes to honoring its own history, the Jordan brand has a penchant for borrowing colors or obsessing over past influences. In fact, the Air Jordan 3 “Cardinal” was a nod to the OG Air Jordan 7 from 1991, and the upcoming Air Jordan 13 “French Blue” nods an original Air Jordan 3. In a nod to the Air Jordan 3 “True Blue” of 1988, this Air Jordan 1 Low “True Blue” sports a similar color scheme.
White, blue, and grey are the primary colors for this release. The pair is constructed differently than the Air Jordan 3’s blocking and material. The heel and eye-stay overlays have a much darker Elephant Print than the rest of the shoe. The collar is made of suede, while the liner, outsole, and heel Wings motif are all made of leather. Light reptilian textures appear on the forefoot overlay, while the white underlays and black Swooshes maintain a smooth look.
For now, we don’t have a release date for this new Air Jordan 1 Low “True Blue”, but you can expect them to be available at select Nike stockists and, more than likely, on Nike’s website soon. See the two for the first time in the gallery below.
