When moving forward, Jordan Brand is eager to reflect on the past. For example, the brand has released OG-inspired colorways and modern trainers that are heavily influenced by the retro collection. The “Homage to Home” Air Jordan 1 was released by the brand in 2018 and split the OG Chicago and Bred colorways in half. We haven’t seen anything like it since—until now, on the all-new Air Jordan 1 Low Split, which features an entirely new color-blocking method for the Air Jordan 1.
The shoe’s lateral side features a one-for-one blocking scheme based on the original Panda colorway. The shoe’s upper is black leather with a white overlay on the medial side. Even its branding and tongue are splintered in two. But only a few copies of the original 1985 release have survived. So its construction is entirely in pebbled leather — another new twist on the OG — with white Wings embroidery in the rear and a set of black insoles rounding out the design.
There’s no word yet on when the Air Jordan 1 Low Split will be available for purchase, but images from Nike.com’s official site suggest that they will. While we wait for more information, you can look at the official release trailer below.
