There have been some notable events in the first 37 days of 2022 for Ye, the persona formerly known as “Kanye West.” While the 44-year-old has recently opened up about his family’s difficulties, let’s focus on Adidas Yeezy (though we acknowledge it’s the last thing the former-Mr. West would like to discuss).
“Motivational Speaker” Justin Laboy (@justinlaboy) debuted a pair of the Adidas YEEZY BSKTBL KNIT Slate Azure in an Instagram story on February 6th. In spite of Laboy’s lack of clarity, his quick shots revealed enough to create mockups of the performance-focused Yeezys. #Respectfully Primeknit-wearing Quantum’s colorway is reminiscent of the original’s, but a reflective finish is applied to most of the forefoot, which gives the pair an animated look. There are no changes to the design of the collar or sole unit, but the latter has a visible heel detailing that has previously kept other Yeezy Basketball designs out of the NBA.
A number of top high school basketball players in the country may one day come to Ye’s aid as he continues to support Donda Academy. Most Donda Academy players are currently wearing the Yeezy 500, while Ye is still relying on his high-profile antics to get his message across.
